An English In Kentucky

February 22nd 2010    Tim Candler

The Barred Owl is described as: "A large gray-brown, puffy-headed woodland owl."   The Barn Owl is described as: "A long-legged, knock-kneed, pale, monkey-faced owl."

These ominous descriptions can be found in the fifth edition of  a Peterson Field Guide to the Birds of Eastern and Central North America.

But I am confident Mr. Peterson pursued an exemplary life and there is no chance of his re-emergence from the ether as "A small four-legged, furry, vole-sized, herbivore."
