    The National Weather Service in Louisville was busy again last night.  Downstairs technical devices were tuned to radar networks. Then the telephone rings. 

    At three o'clock in the morning it's not a drunken relative or a seriously deranged salesman.  It's the voice of Emergency Alert, brief in his advice to take cover ten minutes ago.

     Odd how difficult it is to observe directions to 'stay away from windows' and this is particularly the case when freer spirits are half asleep.

    And it's good to realize the Grey Cat at that time when he is at his most awake is actually quite pleasant to be around.
