An English In Kentucky

As I understand it, a Snake Gourd, if harvested young, is like a Cucumber that can be cooked.  More than likely it will taste strange, but I have seen its extraordinary bloom and watched its progress and I have concerned myself with its being and having done all this, I can at least pretend.

Otherwise all I have to guide me is a  European description of Snake Gourd as vegetable - "Soft, bland mucilaginous flesh similar to the Luffa and the Calabash."  And there is an equally unappetizing use of Snake Gourd which is to induce vomiting after poisoning.
