An English In Kentucky

March 16th  2011    Tim Candler

Turkey wandering the savannah and when they came too close to her wildflower patch, the Artists chased them by running outside and barking.

Here where I live this is a traditional technique for  discouraging others and sometimes it works.  But Turkey can fly if they have to, and when in a gang they play that game of theirs.

I can picture them now, still laughing at Bruce or Georgina, or whoever it was that first became nervous and led their clan trotting toward the crest of the hill.

And of course Bruce or Georgina will busily deny all accusations of cowardly behavior until hunting season starts.  Because that's when we shoot them and eat them and leave their heads and feet and feathers.
