An English In Kentucky

May 4th 2011    Tim Candler

Patchy Frost sounds like a character, and in a sense he is.  Tonight and tomorrow morning he might visit us.  So better to hide our stuff incase he is tempted to steal from us.

Old timers of course will give a wide smile and say "I told you so!"  They'll follow on with long descriptions of their  own encounters and how generations ago the date May 10th was written into the local calendar.

I am more like a  loose Hen.  Unregimented by careful thinking.  Clucking around and pecking at things. Then running for tarpaulins when danger threatens.

Perhaps it is a reach for youthfulness.  And perhaps next I'll dye my hair milk chocolate brown, walk around in pointed shoes muttering  "far-out!"
