The optimistic mind
saw no frost this morning. It was dew under sunshine because the
quality of sparkle contained no hint of diamonds. I could have
stretched the legs and taken a closer look, but optimism is a state of
mind, and my mind saw no frost and will continue to see dew until every
last sparkle is gone.
A gardener may think that because
Sweet Potato are underground they are insulated and safe. What they
might not know is that Sweet Potato have a more passionate relationship with
their vine than do Savory Potato. A Savory Potato will happily say
"good riddance" to her vine, but when a Sweet Potato vine is snatched by
frost, the ennui and sadness travels down the long trails into the root and
soon all is mush and heartbreak.
