An English In Kentucky

Sunday October 2nd 2011    Tim Candler

The optimistic mind saw no frost this morning.  It was dew under sunshine because the quality of sparkle contained no hint of diamonds.  I could have stretched the legs and taken a closer look, but optimism is a state of mind, and my mind saw no frost and will continue to see dew until every last sparkle is gone.

A gardener may think that because Sweet Potato are underground they are insulated and safe.  What they might not know is that Sweet Potato have a more passionate relationship with their vine than do Savory Potato.  A Savory Potato will happily say "good riddance" to her vine, but when a Sweet Potato vine is snatched by frost, the ennui and sadness travels down the long trails into the root and soon all is mush and heartbreak.
