There is a theory about Squirrels, glued to the roadway and apparently
oblivious to danger from on coming vehicles. They are looking for
salts so delicious that nothing else matters until it's often too late.
It's a theory I would like to
trust, because it sums existence, and gives reason to yell out, "No
breaking this time you little bastard." Of course afterwards there is
a sense of guilt and betrayal that result in strange ideas about
manipulating Squirrel gene pools.
